How often do I need my teeth cleaned?
Typically, you should have your teeth professionally cleaned every 6-12 months. However, if you have been told that you have signs of gum disease, you will require cleanings more frequently, every 3-4 months.

Is it true that cleanings can damage my fillings/crowns(caps)?
A filling/crown that is in good condition will not be damaged by a cleaning. However, if your filling or crown is starting to fail, it can certainly be dislodged during a cleaning. Although this can be frustrating or unexpected, it is a sign that the crown or filling was problematic and in need of replacement.

Is it true that cleanings damage my natural teeth/enamel?
This is not true. Dental cleanings do not cause any damage to your teeth/enamel, and there are many benefits of having regular cleanings and check-ups, including preventing disease and finding small problems before they become large and more costly to fix.
